She commented, “Prices have been on floor for beef farmers. We are experiencing a crisis of which the sector has not seen before. The threat of a no deal Brexit looming only heightens tensions.
“It is imperative that the Minister show leadership on this issue and reconvene talks. It is very welcome that spokespersons representing protesting farmers have been appointed which should help talks.
“The stand off in talks is only increasing tensions and serves no benefit. The Minister should reconvene talks and lead all stakeholders through this crisis to find a solution for all,” she concluded.
